About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Energetics MFG Engineer Level 3 to join our Production Quality team in Magna, UT. The Energetics MFG Engineer in Production Quality will work in an industrial environment and support solving complex engineering problems. Will effectively interact with design engineering team and provide support across Factory Value Streams, Materials and Process experts, Process engineering, and Tool Design. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Requirements

  • STEM Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience – OR – STEM Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience – OR – STEM PhD with 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 aerospace quality standards
  • Experience and knowledge in documenting and processing nonconformances via Material Review Board (MRB) protocol
  • Experience or knowledge of performing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)
  • Experience and knowledge in conducting investigations using Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and other investigation techniques
  • Experience with Dimensional Inspection Techniques and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ANSI/AMSE Y14.5)
  • Mechanical design and tooling experience.
  • Computer Aided Design – ie NX, Solidworks, ProE, CAD, other’s
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface with operators, process engineering, suppliers, and design engineering

Responsibilities

  • Understand the design intent, failure modes, requirements, and specifications of the product as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls, statistics, SPC, and quality inspections.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting governmental regulations, agency guidelines and internal policies/procedures to assure compliance and will serve as liaison between Bacchus Mission Assurance and various other organizations including some government agencies.
  • Work directly with operating entities to ensure that inspections, statistical process control analyses, and audits are conducted on a continuing basis as specified to enforce requirements, meet specifications, and improve processing.
