About The Position

The Endpoint Configuration Engineer serves as the technical liaison between Network Operations and Technology Services, providing enterprise endpoint management, software licensing administration, and mobile and macOS device management. This position supports the packaging, installation, configuration, deployment, and automation of software across the College while developing and maintaining standardized endpoint management practices. The Endpoint Configuration Engineer collaborates with Technology Services and departments throughout CVTC to deliver reliable endpoint technology solutions, resolve complex endpoint issues, and support a secure, efficient, and standardized computing environment.

Requirements

Knowledge of basic networking principles and client server relationships.
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include some nights and weekends.
Ability to troubleshoot PC hardware and software problems.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field with a minimum of two years of related work experience required; OR a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary liaison between Network Operations and Technology Services by analyzing technical and business process issues, identifying opportunities for automation, and developing solutions to improve endpoint management and deployment processes.
Design, test, implement, and maintain endpoint configuration standards and deployment processes.
Collaborate with Technology Services, faculty, and staff and to identify endpoint management needs and ensure proper software licensing, deployment, and configuration.
Manage software version updates and patches and research new software products to support instructional and institutional needs.
Develop, test, package, and deploy enterprise software using established endpoint management practices.
Maintain software license renewals for academic software by maintaining accurate license and version information, identifying renewal requirements and vendor contacts, coordinating with external vendors, and implementing effective processes for software license management.
Manage enterprise software deployments across physical and virtualized environments.
Analyze, design, implement, maintain, and support the MacOS and iOS device management practice using Microsoft Intune.
Administer of networked license and application servers.
Assist in the administration of enterprise print management solutions.
Evaluate vendor products and services and recommend technology solutions and purchases.
Maintain accurate documentation of systems design, configurations, and software packages.
Maintain detailed records of cases in our help desk software solution.
Maintain an understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerShell and batch scripting.
