About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for turning around procedure rooms, troubleshooting, cleaning, and high-level disinfecting endoscopes and accessory equipment. This role also involves stocking supplies, preparing scopes for transport, assisting nursing staff and physicians, and operating/maintaining endoscopy equipment. The technician must understand and follow infection prevention processes and complete necessary documentation. This is a full-time position requiring regular attendance and the ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Turn around procedure rooms: set up and take down
  • Trouble shoot endoscopes in the procedure room as needed
  • Clean and high level disinfect endoscopes
  • Clean, high level disinfect or sterilize accessory equipment
  • Stock supplies for the Endoscopy Center and order as needed
  • Prepare scope for transport
  • Help clean and make beds in recovery as needed
  • Assist nursing staff and physicians as needed
  • Operation and maintenance of endoscopy equipment as directed
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
  • Understand and follow infection prevention processes
  • Documentation as necessary in appropriate log sheets
