About The Position
The Endoscopy Technician, in accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors; under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assists with the coordination of care for patients in the endoscopy department. Responsible for the preparation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment and supplies and assists in performing invasive endoscopic procedures. Processes tissue and bodily fluids specimens. Maintains the GI procedure area in a clean, safe condition. Ensures necessary equipment and supplies are available for procedures. Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalency required.
- Effective Communication Skills
- Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal relations skills.
- Basic computer skills preferred.
Nice To Haves
- Previous patient care experience and/or technical education in health-related field preferred.
