About The Position

Assists in safe, efficient endoscopic procedures that physicians use for diagnosing adult patients. Responsibilities include assisting in procedure rooms, caring for patients, obtaining specimens, cleaning, and turning over procedure rooms. The role requires knowledge of high-level disinfection practices and record-keeping, proficiency in endoscopic equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Cross-training to assist in procedures as needed is expected. The position also involves participation in staff development and pursuing professional growth.

Requirements

• High School Equivalent / GED
• Capable of working with varied equipment.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate.
• Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Must have basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Notable client service skills.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
• Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.).
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required within 1 Year)
• Certification in Scope reprocessing (Required within 1 Year)
• Successful completion of hospital based Endoscopy Orientation (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Previous Lab experience in CSP or endoscopy reprocessing
• Patient Care experience
• Previous experience in endoscopy reprocessing or Central Sterile Processing
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Responsibilities

• Accurately decontaminates and reprocesses endoscopic equipment and accessories.
• Under the direction of an RN, assists in procedure rooms to assist in caring for patient, obtaining specimens, and the cleaning and turn around of procedure rooms and pre and post recovery areas.
• Maintains the cleanliness of all procedure rooms and reprocessing room.
• Maintains inventory of endoscopy supplies, reprocessing supplies and equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
