About The Position
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Endoscopy Tech assists in providing nursing care to a designated patient population in collaboration with other members of the health care team within the Endoscopy Center. This role involves adhering to sterile techniques, assisting physicians with equipment during procedures, handling specimens, evaluating new supplies and equipment, and performing high-level disinfection and sterilization of equipment.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Prior Endo experience required
- BLS required
Nice To Haves
- Endo tech certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Applies principles in adhering to sterile technique
- Assists physician with equipment during procedures
- Handles specimens according to policies and procedures
- Participates in the evaluation of new supplies, equipment and instruments
- Chooses correct method and time frame for high level disinfection and sterilization of equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
