About The Position

Comprehensive Digestive Surgical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is hiring a PRN Endoscopy Tech. Under the direction of a GI/Endoscopy Nurse, the Endoscopy Tech assists with care for patients undergoing GI/endoscopy procedures and supports the organization’s mission and vision. The center is a freestanding ambulatory surgery center in Las Vegas, Nevada, specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopy. It has three procedure rooms, uses video equipment and newer technologies, and performs around 600 cases per month. Its specialties include gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy.

Requirements

• Valid BCLS certification upon employment; online certification is not accepted.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred.
• One year of acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit and ensure necessary GI equipment and supplies are available.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist with the maintenance, care, and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimens with the surgeon and pass them to the circulating RN.
