About The Position

As an Endoscopy Tech at Comprehensive Digestive Surgical Center, you will assist with the care of patients undergoing GI/endoscopy procedures under the direction of a GI/Endoscopy Nurse. The position supports the organization’s mission and vision by helping maintain a sanitary environment, preparing the endoscopy unit and equipment, and supporting room turnover and specimen handling.

Comprehensive Digestive Surgical Center is a freestanding ambulatory surgery center in Las Vegas, Nevada, specializing in gastrointestinal endoscopy. It has three procedure rooms, performs approximately 600 cases per month, and uses state-of-the-art video equipment and newer technologies. Its specialties include gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy.

Requirements

• One year of acute care experience, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
• Valid BCLS certification upon employment; online certification is not acceptable.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a sanitary environment for patients.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Prepare the endoscopy unit and ensure necessary GI equipment and supplies are available.
• Clean GI treatment rooms between procedures and prepare rooms for the next case.
• Assist with the maintenance, care, and labeling of specimens.
• Identify specimens with the surgeon and pass them to the circulating RN.
