About The Position

Responsible for assisting the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures. This role involves maintaining supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department, ensuring they are in proper working order. The technician is also responsible for cleaning and disinfecting equipment according to unit and hospital policy. Additionally, the position provides appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Clerical duties are performed as necessary to ensure optimal function of the department, including assembling and maintaining patient chart material, records, and files, maintaining order and cleanliness of the workstation, and completing patient charges.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current AHA BLS Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program or CNA/MA program.
• Previous experience as Unit Secretary preferred or as CNA/MA.
• Previous experience in Endoscopy preferred.
