About The Position
The Endoscopy Tech provides technical support during endoscopic procedures to help ensure patient safety and efficient care. The role prepares, maintains, and reprocesses endoscopy equipment; assists physicians during procedures; prepares and cleans procedure areas; and maintains accurate documentation. Success requires technical proficiency, attention to detail in sterile processing, and collaboration in a fast-paced clinical setting.
Requirements
- High school graduate or GED.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 14 days.

- One year of patient care experience.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect endoscopes and accessory equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Document the cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes on the appropriate logs.
- Prepare accessory equipment for sterilization and deliver it to sterile processing.
- Document disinfection-solution change dates, solution-quality testing, and reprocessing-equipment filter changes.
- Assess equipment daily and report or escalate damage and repair needs through appropriate channels and to the assigned unit leader.
- Set up and clean procedure rooms, supply carts, pre- and post-procedural areas, and equipment.
- Assist the physician during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as directed by the physician or registered nurse.
