Demonstrates proper usage of ultrasound and fluoroscopy equipment including radiation safety while assisting Advanced Endoscopists with specialized devices including but not limited to extraction balloons, cannulas & sphincterotomes, baskets, knives, cholangioscopic devices, stents, endoscopic mucosal resection devices as well as suturing. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate from a surgical technology program
  • 1 year of general gastrointestinal endoscopy or advanced endoscopy fluency
  • Certification in Surgical Technology within 90 Days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association within 90 Days
  • Ability to have effective, clear communication
  • Ability to perform needed tasks on radiology work lists & Provation or EPIC EMRs
  • Cohesive and open to peers and physicians
  • Ability to maintain Advanced Endoscopy skills and have completed Biliary training and taking on call
  • Knowledge of human anatomy
  • Ability to show fiscal responsibility for supply stewardship

Responsibilities

  • Assists physicians during procedures
  • Ensures cleanliness and disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures
  • Maintains all endoscopic equipment and procedural assistive equipment
  • Maintains required knowledge base participating in activities of professional development
  • Adapts to change in a positive manner to assist in the day to day operations of the department
  • Performs direct patient care duties under the direction of the endoscopist
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
