Requirements

  • Current Oregon state licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
  • ACLS required within 60 days of hire.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty care, Gastroenterology is a plus!
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is preferred. Epic experience is a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Provides professional nursing care during the pre-procedure (admission) and post-procedure (recovery) phases of endoscopic care.
  • Completes pre-procedure patient assessments, including medical history review, medication reconciliation, allergy verification, and baseline vital signs.
  • Prepares patients for procedures by verifying informed consent, ensuring NPO status, initiating IV access, and completing required safety and regulatory documentation.
  • Monitors patients in the post-procedure recovery phase, including assessment of vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and potential complications, and escalates concerns per facility protocols.
  • Provides discharge education to patients and caregivers, including post-procedure instructions, medication guidance, and follow-up care.
  • Documents nursing care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and facility requirements.
  • Adheres to patient safety standards, infection prevention practices, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Accurately handles all specimens, completes laboratory request forms, and verifies information is correct. Ensures equipment and supplies are cleaned, sterilized, and available when needed.
  • Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to support efficient patient flow and high-quality patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations.
