About The Position

The Endoscopy Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting patient care and operational efficiency at the Maple Grove Endoscopy Center. This part-time position involves a variety of responsibilities across different areas of the center, including front desk duties, assisting in admitting, recovery, and circulating, as well as supporting physicians during procedures. The role requires a high level of customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to anticipate needs, and committed to maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification required or willing to obtain within 3 months of start date.
  • BLS Certification required or willing to obtain within 3 months of start date.
  • Ability to gain certification will be provided through MNGI, must be completed within 3 months of start date.

  • Must be able to tolerate personal protective equipment including; gowns, gloves, face masks and eye protection.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors at the front desk.
  • Check in all appointments occurring at the endoscopy center.
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms while maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and practice regulations.
  • Address patient and visitor questions and concerns.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable lobby area.
  • Greet and room patients in admitting/recovery areas.
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing and toileting.
  • Support patient mobility needs such as ambulation and transfers between stretchers, chairs, wheelchairs, and vehicles.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and visitors.
  • Observe and report changes in patients’ condition to nursing staff.
  • Document care provided accurately and promptly.
  • Assist patients during the discharge process.
  • Clean and prepare patient areas, including disinfecting stretchers, remaking beds, and turning over rooms.
  • Maintain cleanliness of restrooms and exam rooms according to Endoscopy and Infection Control Policies.
  • Monitor, organize, and restock medical and personal care supplies in patient rooms, nursing stations, supply carts, and storage areas.
  • Report low or expired supply items to the appropriate staff.
  • Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures.
  • Anticipate physician needs and provide instruments and tools promptly.
  • Prepare procedure rooms with necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Escort patients to and from the procedure room.
  • Provide basic comfort and reassurance to patients during procedures.
  • Accurately document procedural details and cleaning records.
  • Utilize proper regulatory, facility, and infection control standards and techniques.
