The Albuquerque Indian Health Center (AIHC) is a comprehensive healthcare facility dedicated to serving Native American communities in and around Albuquerque, New Mexico. Operated by the Indian Health Service, the center provides a wide range of medical services, including primary care, behavioral health, dental care, pharmacy services, and public health programs. AIHC focuses on culturally competent care, emphasizing disease prevention and health promotion tailored to the needs of Native American populations. The center also offers patient education, chronic disease management, and specialized care to enhance the overall well-being of its community members. This position will provide general dentistry services with an endodontic emphasis, including consultative services for other dental providers at the Albuquerque Indian Dental Clinic (AIDC). The Endodontist will provide endodontic dental care to Native American patients, including examinations, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment planning, follow-up, and consultations. They will also consult with other healthcare providers when medical or developmental conditions require further investigation, prescribe appropriate medications, and document treatment in patient dental records according to AIDC policies. The role requires nine hours per clinic day of direct patient care, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and deformities of the teeth and oral cavity. The Endodontist must be able to diagnose and treat oral pathology within the scope of their qualifications and in accordance with U.S. dental practice standards, providing the same level of care and guidance to Client beneficiaries as would be provided to the general public.
