We are currently seeking a Endodontic Patient Coordinator to infuse new energy into our Front Desk team. With two locations one in the Gateway Plaza shopping center located in Patchogue and the Great South Bay shopping center located in West Babylon, NY. Both are welcoming and warm environments, intentionally designed to promote collaboration and foster creativity. We will train you to become a great Endodontic Patient Coordinator and our (very unique) Global Training program allows you to see how/what all departments do to support you in your role. Some of our Patient Coordinators have moved into roles as Front Desk Team Leads, Hygiene Coordinator Team Leads, or even Practice Administrators. We give plenty of support and we’re with you every step of the way! You start our BDC journey with a 15 day Global Training and your own Ambassador to walk you thru it all. Our intention during the beginning days is to introduce you to BDC's entire service, culture mindset and give you customized and or individualized training needed to master your roll as an Endodontic Patient Coordinator. Our Front Desk department is very busy so we need someone who is: Reliable and team orientated. Out of the box thinker and collaborative to support our growth. Empathic and compassionate. Self motivated, takes initiative without constant direction. Calm under pressure, strong communicator. Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software. Requirements

  • We expect you to be personally responsible for being on-time and present for every shift you work and always willing to go the extra mile for our patients!
  • 5 or more years experience in a dental front desk position.
  • Flexibility in regards to scheduling. Our office is open 6 days a week, including early morning, late evenings, and some holidays. Most Patient Coordinators work every other Saturday.
  • Experience providing exceptional hospitality-inspired customer service in a fast-paced Practice.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high follow thru.
  • The ability to calculate percentages accurately and quickly using basic math skills. Comfortability in both.
  • A positive, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude. Collaborative and comfortable in communications.
  • Outstanding teamwork skills and the ability work with a diverse group of people.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Dentrix Ascend (or other dental software) would be helpful in setting you up for success, but not mandatory. Ability and open to learn our dental software.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish welcomed.

Responsibilities

  • Review with our patients the estimated fees for treatment after the Dentist/Endodontist has diagnosed and reviewed their options with them.
  • Help patients better understand their dental insurance benefits with assistance from our billing department.
  • Work with outside patient care financing companies to give our patients a wide range of financial options.
  • Submit and track insurance pre-authorizations.
  • Help collect payments and ensure financial policies are honored.
  • Manage emails and online inquiries throughout the day.
  • Professionally support and reassure anxious patients during the checkout process.
  • Answer overflow calls routed from the Call Center when you are not assisting a patient and are available to take the call.
  • Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout, making sure enough time is reserved for each patient’s treatment so Providers can stay focused on care.
  • Participating/organizing and running direct team huddles for your Provider and the Assistants. Sharing huddle sheets daily with our Administrative team. Be open to collaboration and feedback.
  • Train and support new team members when ready, contributing where you can add value.
  • Follow up with patients who have not scheduled treatment. Ensure Doctors are conducting any patient calls after services are rendered.
  • Encourage satisfied patients to leave reviews or refer others, sharing our referral program with our patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the entire Practice to meet or exceed monthly goals.
  • Generate and review reports, when directed.
  • Monitor treatment plans and case acceptance, when directed to further support your Doctor and meet hourly production goals.
  • Become knowledgeable and be able to assist patients in joining our Dental Savings Program.
