About The Position
The Endocrinology position involves diagnosing, treating, and managing complex diseases of the endocrine system and glandular/metabolic imbalances. Key areas of treatment include Diabetes & Metabolism (type 1 and type 2 diabetes, severe insulin resistance, lipid disorders, obesity), Thyroid Diseases (hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, goiters, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer), Neuroendocrinology & Glandular Disorders (pituitary tumors, adrenal gland dysfunction, parathyroid abnormalities), Bone Health (metabolic bone diseases, osteoporosis, calcium metabolism disorders), and Reproductive & Gender-Affirming Care (hypogonadism, PCOS, gender-affirming hormone therapies). The role requires travel to the Western Ventura endocrinology clinic for coverage. The anticipated start date is ASAP.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Eligible for Partnership of SCPMG after three consecutive years of full-time employment (six consecutive years of part-time employment).
- Experience in a family medicine residency program setting.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and manage complex diseases of the endocrine system and glandular/metabolic imbalances.
- Manage type 1 and type 2 diabetes, severe insulin resistance, lipid disorders, and obesity.
- Treat hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, goiters, thyroid nodules, and thyroid cancer.
- Diagnose and treat pituitary tumors, adrenal gland dysfunction (like Cushing's disease or Addison's disease), and parathyroid abnormalities.
- Manage metabolic bone diseases, including severe osteoporosis and calcium metabolism disorders.
- Address hypogonadism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and provide gender-affirming hormone therapies.
- Provide coverage at the Western Ventura endocrinology clinic.
