About The Position

Seeking an Endocrinologist for a locum tenens position in Scarborough, ME. This outpatient role involves providing clinical endocrinology and diabetes care in an ambulatory clinic setting. The coverage period is ongoing, starting November 2, 2026. The schedule is flexible, offering either four 10-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts per week. The position requires managing new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and hospital discharge follow-ups, with an average daily patient volume of 16-20. Collaboration with onsite Certified Diabetes Educators is expected, and there is an option to perform thyroid fine-needle aspirations (FNAs).

Requirements

Board Certified (Required)
Experience with EPIC EMR
Covid and flu vaccine required
References from 2 supervisors and 1 peer within 12 months required.

Nice To Haves

Active ME License or Universal License (IMLC) (Highly Preferred) – willing to review licensing candidates
Thyroid FNA ability highly preferred

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient endocrinology and diabetes care in an ambulatory clinic setting.
Manage new patient evaluations, follow-up visits, and hospital discharge follow-ups.
See 16-20 patients per day, 4 days per week (flexible 4x10 or 5x8 schedule).
Collaborate with onsite Certified Diabetes Educators for patient education and diabetes management.
