About The Position

Vail Health is seeking an Endocrinologist to join their advanced mountain healthcare system. Requirements

  • Board Certification in Endocrinology
  • A license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado
  • A current DEA registration number
  • Completion of a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited institution
  • Fellowship training required

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred two years clinical experience.
  • Preferred experience/skill with thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound guided FNAs.
  • Knowledge/interest/expertise in the advanced management of all forms of diabetes mellitus, including skilled interpretation of data from and use of insulin pumps and continuous glucose sensors.
  • Interest/knowledge in caring for patients with any and all forms of endocrine and metabolic disease, including, but not limited to: thyroid dysfunction, thyroid cancer, pituitary disease, adrenal disease, gonadal disease, symptomatic menopause, all forms of diabetes mellitus, metabolic/lipid disorders, calcium disorders, osteoporosis, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full spectrum of endocrine and metabolic conditions, including advanced diabetes care, thyroid disease, pituitary and adrenal disorders, metabolic bone disease, and lipid disorders.
  • Practice comprehensive, high-acuity endocrinology.
  • Support advanced interpretation of data and modern treatment approaches for diabetes management, including insulin pumps and continuous glucose monitoring.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team including registered nurses, a certified diabetes educator, advanced practice providers, care techs, and physician partners.
  • Focus on high-value clinical care while sharing responsibility across the team.
  • Shape clinical protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and use data and outcomes to enhance care delivery.
  • Contribute to training APPs and clinical staff.
  • Review documentation and coding accuracy.
  • Contribute to policy and protocol development.
  • Monitor patient satisfaction and collaborate with operations to resolve concerns.
