About The Position

The Endoscopy Technician plays a vital role in maintaining sterile environments and ensuring the proper functioning of endoscopic equipment. This position involves applying aseptic techniques during equipment preparation and while assisting with various procedures. The technician is responsible for performing essential maintenance and cleaning protocols for endoscopes and their accessories.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must have experience in travel assignments, having completed at least one travel assignment.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • High-level disinfection (HLD) certification is highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Apply principles of aseptic technique to equipment preparation and maintenance.
  • Identify potential compromises to the sterile and disinfectant integrity of items throughout procedures.
  • Disassemble and inspect equipment, noting any defective or malfunctioning parts, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Conduct pre-cleaning inspections and leak testing for endoscopes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Follow established protocols for reprocessing endoscopes and accessories, including high-level disinfection and proper storage.
  • Determine methods of high-level disinfection based on material and manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Calibrate and check equipment according to established protocols.
  • Assist with ambulatory technician duties, such as obtaining and documenting vital signs and transporting patients.
