About The Position

The Endless Aisle Operations Analyst ensures the endless aisle program is operating efficiently, accurately, and cost effectively. The analyst is also responsible for researching, implementing and monitoring technology improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy of Endless Aisle processes. This person works closely with the Endless Aisle team to ensure that vendors shipping performance is measured, policies adhered to and reviewed by all parties.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of freight costing components including hundredweight (cwt) calculations, line haul and accessorial expenses.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to prioritize work by thinking holistically to consider customer and enterprise needs, not just team needs.
  • Has a sharp eye for detail and excellent organization skills.
  • Self-directed and takes initiative to solve problems in a collaborative and time effective manner.
  • Experience creating charts and graphs in Excel or Google sheets to show trends.
  • Ability to juggle multiple initiatives in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
  • Mathematical - Must demonstrate math and accounting aptitude.
  • Reasoning - Ability to compare/contrast, innovate, analyze, coordinate, and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.

  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of supply chain management and foodservice industry.
  • Photocopier, fax, phone, calculator, PC/Laptop, teleconferencing equipment, general office equipment.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proficient in development of formulas, pivot tables, macros, CSV’s.
  • Google Apps (Chrome, Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc...).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3 + years previous food service or supply chain mgt. experience strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups is a plus.
  • Jira or similar agile planning and tracking tool is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains good relations with suppliers, carriers, internal and external customers.
  • Collaborates with Analysts, specialists, operations, vendors, and our carriers to maximize efficiency.
  • Manages the communication and resolution of tracking and parcel shipments.
  • Analyzes Gordon Food Service purchasing data and makes independent decisions regarding freight costing.
  • Ensures accurate system freight costs through collaboration with other Gordon Food Service departments, and product suppliers.
  • Reviews, audits, and reconciles Gordon Food Service's parcel shipping invoices for Endless Aisle.
  • Develops reports in support of customer freight audits.
  • Manages extra inventory to reduce inventory and spoilage.
  • Reports on inventory and spoilage.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce.
  • Manages customer returns and monitors damaged shipments.
  • Manages RFPs and negotiations with carriers.
  • Coordinates LTL shipments as needed.
  • Understands small parcel and freight landscape and implications on the Endless Aisle business.
  • Identifies, analyzes and recommends diversification opportunities, potential new carriers, and other opportunities to improve the customer experience and/or identify cost savings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains relationship with third-party software providers.
  • Manages all automation and technology solutions for the Endless Aisle team.
  • Collaborate with product management to use customer feedback, research, market and data analysis to validate product/service technology roadmap direction.
  • Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams to solve problems, provide feedback, and accept completed work.
  • Coordinate communication, training and change management activities.
  • Supports any new enhancements, and/or upgrades to systems.
  • Provides systems support and necessary training for business changes to our vendors e.g. upgrades to systems.
  • Creates and assists with the prioritization of all outstanding Jira projects.
  • Develops, monitors and analyzes reporting to monitor success and impact of strategic initiatives and technology implementations.
  • Actively looks for and pursues opportunities for process improvement, automation and technology enhancements in support of business efficiency and stewardship.
