About The Position

Responsible for providing quality neurodiagnostic testing care to patients under the direction of a physician. May engage in all departmental activities to provide safe and effective delivery of patient care utilizing parameters guided by the American Society of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ASET). Department activities include but are not limited to performing electroencephalogram (EEG); evoked potentials (EP); assisting physicians with nerve conduction studies (NCS); scheduling patients; limited electrocardiography (EKG); transcribing/typing, faxing, scanning, linking and filing reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred.
• Adult/Pediatric CPR certification required (Available upon employment).
• Typing skills and general computer knowledge required

Nice To Haves

• Registered by American Board of Registration of EEG and EP Technologists (ABRET) preferred.
• Experience in a technical health care field, training and experience in Neurodiagnostics, and/or Polysomnography (including the 10-20 system) preferred.
• Completion of a CAHEA Accredited education program in Neurodiagnostics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performing electroencephalogram (EEG); evoked potentials (EP)
• Assisting physicians with nerve conduction studies (NCS).
• Collects, reviews, & summarizes neurological patient information
• Completes documentation and provides limited electrocardiography (EKG).
• Transcribing/typing, faxing, scanning, linking and filing reports.
• Assists with departmental Objectives, PI, and maintenance of Procedure Manual.
