About The Position

A study of traditional and current issues in the theory of criticism and literary history. The theoretical approaches to be examined normally include historicism, formalism, structuralism, psychoanalytical criticism, feminism, deconstruction, post-colonialism, Marxism and cultural studies.

Requirements

  • MA in English.
  • Teaching experience at the university-level.
  • Ability to prove legal right to work in Canada.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD preferred.
  • Research expertise (dissertation, publications and/or conference presentations) in English is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach EN301: Literary Theory course.
  • Conduct a study of traditional and current issues in the theory of criticism and literary history.
  • Examine theoretical approaches including historicism, formalism, structuralism, psychoanalytical criticism, feminism, deconstruction, post-colonialism, Marxism and cultural studies.
