About The Position

EMTs provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. Superior Ambulance Service provides emergency and scheduled medical transportation. Openings are available in Allen Park, Detroit, Northville, Southfield, Taylor, Troy, and Warren. Superior Ambulance Service began in 1959 with one ambulance and is now the largest independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. The company employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics, and Nurses and operates more than 800 ambulances across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. It also provides critical care, helicopter, and fixed-wing emergency medical transportation.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license, or a license pending.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within EMT training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Complete written reports documenting the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Provide appropriate billing documentation.
Keep the vehicle sanitary and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
