About The Position
New Britain Emergency Medical Services (NBEMS) is seeking dedicated EMTs to join our 911-only response team. At a minimum, if you have completed a state-accredited EMT program and are awaiting final state certification, we encourage you to apply! NBEMS offers a 911-only response with no street posting, responding from a central station in a fast-paced, high-quality EMS work environment focused on patient outcomes. This is an entry-level position with no experience needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma; and post-secondary vocational training.
- Current AHA BCLS Healthcare provider.
- Current Connecticut and National Registry (preferred) certification as an EMT or AEMT.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Desire to excel as a pre-hospital care provider in a busy urban EMS System.
- Ability to be self-motivated and accountable.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to foster the concept of team work in order to accomplish goals.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Nice To Haves
- Current Connecticut Medical Command Authorization for semi automatic defibrillation and Epi-Pen utilization desirable.
- IS 100;200;700 and 800 certification desirable.
Responsibilities
- Administer pre-hospital emergency care and other forms of related health care and education.
- Transport patients in emergency and non-emergency situations as required.
- Work as a member of an emergency medical team.
