About The Position

Gundersen Health System Ambulance (GHSA) is adding a fulltime EMT to our highly committed and driven Sparta & Tomah ambulance teams as we provide the most advanced pre-hospital patient care available to an area of nearly 1,000 square miles covering parts of both Iowa and Wisconsin. With a dedicated staff of highly skilled Paramedics and experienced EMTs, we are able to provide 911 emergency response and interfacility medical services 24 hours a day. As an EMT, you will respond, treat, and transport patients in emergency and non-emergency settings. You will function as a crew member of an ambulance in both Rural 911 and interfacility transfer environments, providing transfer services for Gundersen Critical Access hospitals and non-affiliated hospitals throughout the region. You will perform EMT-level clinical care to patients of all ages in accordance with established policies, protocols, and standards under the guidelines of Gundersen Health System medical direction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalency
  • National Registry Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (NREMT)
  • Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT-B) by time of start; with Minnesota EMT license within 60 days of the hire date
  • Valid Wisconsin, Minnesota, or Iowa driver’s license
  • Current Infant-Adult Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (with hands-on learning)
  • Certified Emergency Vehicle Operation (CEVO) or equivalent & ICS 100, 200 and 700 course certificates required within 60 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in an emergency or pre-hospital setting is strongly preferred
