About The Position

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Trainee will work under direct supervision of assigned Preceptor. The EMT Trainee will assist staff with patient or non-patient duties as assigned while attending an approved EMT Basic Course.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Valid state driver's license (required)
• Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) (required within 3 months of hire)
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Certification (required within 3 months of hire)
• EMT Basic Course Completion (required within 6 months of hire)
• EMT National Registry license (obtained within 3 months of course completion)
• 1 year experience with incident-free driving (required)

Nice To Haves

• STNA (State Tested Nursing Aide) (preferred)
• 1 year experience as a STNA (State Tested Nursing Aide) or Medical background (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Completes weekly assignments such as maintains proper reports and records, observes the dispatch center, and shadows leaders, maintenance for vehicle and equipment, orders and stocks supplies, etc.
• Participates in mandatory trainings (e.g., ambulette training, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC), first aid, etc.)
• Partners with EMT Basic for patient transports.
