About The Position
The EMT Trainee Program at Patriot Ambulance Service is a tuition-free opportunity to become a certified EMT. This accelerated 10-week program provides hands-on instruction, practical skill development, and real-world experience through ride-alongs. Upon successful completion and licensure, trainees are guaranteed a starting pay of $19.28/hour and will transition into a full-time EMT role. Requirements
- Must be 19 years old.
- High school diploma, GED, homeschool equivalent, or dual-enrolled high school senior.
- Valid Michigan driver's license.
- Clean driving record.
- Three years of driving experience.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
- Proof of required vaccinations.
- Willingness to remain calm under pressure.
- Willingness to show empathy in emotionally intense situations.
- Commitment to completing the full training and licensing process.
Responsibilities
- Learn the fundamentals of emergency care.
- Develop practical skills in emergency medical services.
- Gain confidence through classroom instruction and ride-along experiences.
- Prepare for and pass the EMT certification exam.
- Transition into a full-time EMT role working in the field.
