About The Position

Concentra is looking for a PRN (as-needed) EMT to cover at our client's construction site in Wilmington, DE! This role involves providing emergency medical and trauma care to patients in various settings, performing triage, and delivering urgent care in line with established protocols. The EMT will provide high-quality, efficient, and accurate one-on-one patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring a welcoming and respectful experience for every patient.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced EMT.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Must meet credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Continuing education is required to maintain license and to perform job.
  • 3 years of experience.
  • 911 experience required.
  • Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure and make quick decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated medical knowledge, techniques and information needed to treat injuries.
  • Demonstrated ability to administer first aid/emergency care.
  • Demonstrated ability to speak effectively and convey information to supervisors, peers and customers.
  • Demonstrated ability use judgement and perform critical thinking.
  • Demonstrated intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, Outlook and entry of data into various systems/applications.
  • Ability to make decisions or solve problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Outstanding customer service skills as well as the ability to deal with people in a manner which shows tact and professionalism.
  • The ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information (including HIPAA and PHI) in accordance with federal and state laws and company policies.

  • Drug Screen Collection, Breath Alcohol Certification, and Hair and Oral Fluids Collection certifications a plus.
  • OSHA safety certifications or experience a plus.
  • ARC/CPR Instructor a plus.
  • Fire Fighter experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testing (training provided).
  • Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and performing ancillary testing such as vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, pulmonary function tests, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing.
  • Perform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.) (training provided).
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures or the need for additional assistance, using examination and knowledge of emergency medical practice.
  • Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician and triage emergent patients.
  • Assist clients with case management of injuries and follow-up care.
  • Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician and in accordance with state regulations and standing orders.
  • Administer prescribed first-aid treatment, potentially including application of splints, administration of oxygen or intravenous injections, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation.
  • Communicate with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities to obtain instructions and arrange for patient reception.
  • Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes.
  • Maintain supplies, clean equipment, and the onsite clinic.
  • Complete applicable training, including monthly clinical competency training.
  • Maintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping.
  • Notify supervisor immediately of any equipment malfunctions, supply needs, or facility operational issues.
  • Keep patients informed of expected wait times.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines and safety rules.
  • Attend client safety team meetings or huddles as required.
  • Assist client with wellness activities.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facility.
