Requirements

Graduate of paramedic program.
5 years driving experience with a clean MVR required.
Valid and current Illinois driver’s license.
Illinois State Certified EMT-P license.
BLS Healthcare Provider CPR card.
ACLS and PALS certifications within 90 days of hire date.
ITLS certification within 1 year of hire date.
Complies with continuing education requirements as set forth by the EMS system and the State of Illinois.
Meet and maintain physical ability to perform EMS/Rescue operations.

Nice To Haves

Experience in emergency driving situations desired.

Responsibilities

Provider of age specific (all age groups) pre-hospital care at the paramedic level, including oversight of EMT-1 or EMT-B partner activities.
Operations of ambulance and all equipment;
Liaison between patient/significant other and hospital staff.
Communications with other providers, agencies, and the public.
Informal and formal instruction of Intermediate and Basic level EMT’s.
Follow the Policy/Procedures of Ambulance Department
Light housekeeping at the stations.
Other duties assigned by Director or Team Leader.
