About The Position

This PRN position involves providing high-quality patient care in both the Emergency Department and ambulance settings. The role requires assisting nursing staff, triaging patients, and utilizing an age-appropriate, holistic approach. The position also involves restocking supplies, completing accurate documentation, and adhering to hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA, EMTALA, IDPH and other federal/state regulatory agencies.
  • Completion of all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Knowledge of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse.

Responsibilities

  • Assists nursing with delivers high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of care while in the Emergency Department.
  • Provide high quality care while demonstrating knowledge and clinical skills with established protocols while in the ambulance setting.
  • Triage patients presenting to the Emergency Department and/or with EMS services
  • Utilizes an age appropriate, holistic approach for the patients and families seeking emergency services.
  • Assist/float to other areas to assist with clinical and non-clinical functions as needed and/or as assigned.
  • Accurately and promptly restock ambulance and patient rooms after every call
  • Promptly completes documentation to assure an accurate legal document, including medication administration in both the ambulance and ED setting.
  • Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to hospital policies and procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.
  • Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
  • Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA, EMTALA, IDPH and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
  • Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
  • Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.
