About The Position

Coho Integrated Solutions is seeking exceptional EMT Instructors with expertise in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) disciplines. In this role, you will train and mentor enlisted Sailors in the fundamentals of emergency and nursing care in support of the Navy Medicine Training Support Command (NMTSC) Hospital Corpsman Basic (HCB) Program at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Requirements

Proof of US Citizenship is required to work on this contract
Possess a current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
Possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification or the ability to obtain BLS Instructor certification within 30 days of employment
Instructors must have between 5 and 7 years of recent instructional experience
Have completed a military service-approved Instructor Training Course (ITC) certification within the past five years
A minimum of five (5) years of recent experience in direct patient care either in patient or outpatient basis

Responsibilities

Ensure all students course materials; general references and examinations are clearly written, technically and didactically correct and revised sufficiently to maintain state of the art instruction as directed by the course Curriculum Development staff.
Provide students with clear course objectives and classroom expectations; ensure that course content and objectives are met.
Utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate the diverse learning styles of students.
Conduct examination reviews, administer examinations as scheduled and proctor to ensure testing integrity.
Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
Create a professional classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Assess the accomplishments of students regularly and provide progress reports as required.
Adheres to ethical, behavioral and professional standards.
Respond to student questions and inquiries in a timely manner and document concerns and forward to the Course Director or designee for action.
Maintain accurate attendance records and call on or follow-up with absent students.
Conduct scheduled and unscheduled remedial training as needed to assist students with course material.
Actively work to maintain student retention within the program by identifying at-risk students and provide tutoring and program plans to help them succeed.
When directed, shall input student grades and academic counseling forms into program records and students’ master training record.
Comply with all institutional, accrediting and regulatory agency policies and procedures.
Attend and participate in training and meetings, as directed by the Course Directors.
Maintain subject matter knowledge of course material to program faculty by receiving an overall rating of “Excellent” on instructor evaluations.
Create, review and submit a monthly status report.
