About The Position

This state-of-the-art facility provides exceptional care to all of our patients, with the most beautiful views in the area, located centrally in Vail. In this seasonal position (October - April) you will have the opportunity to embrace the winter wonderland of Vail, Colorado with world-class skiing/snowboarding and the vibrant atmosphere of a top notch hospital with a strong orthopedic case load. Our seasonal staff are eligible for Vail Health supported housing, season completion bonus, health insurance, wellness reimbursement credit and 403(b) retirement contribution eligibility. This is for 2, 12 hour shifts weekly.

Requirements

One year of experience as a care tech or EMT preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification by the state of Colorado OR Paramedic certification by the state of Colorado
Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Responsibilities

Assists with and performs patient care including collection of patient information, accurate reading and documentation of vital signs, and recording input and output activities and treatments on the EMR.
Assists with coordination of the daily patient flow and schedule in order to optimize patient care, safety and satisfaction - includes preparing rooms for exams and procedures.
Demonstrates ability to work with the practice providers by accurately receiving and implementing instructions and orders.
Demonstrates clinical knowledge in all patient types and age groups to meet patient care needs/outcomes within the practice. Displays cultural competency and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
Performs various procedures, processes, and other duties as assigned under nursing delegation.
Maintains diagnostic and medication logs as required by policy. Documents patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
Protects patients and employees by assisting in maintaining a clean, safe working environment, and adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
Provides confidential administrative support and unit coordinator duties to the department as required.
