About The Position

This is a PRN (as needed) position for an EMT-B. The role requires alertness, skill in recognizing symptoms, and good judgment to select proper treatment, especially in unusual or unfavorable conditions. Resourcefulness in emergency situations and the ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care are essential. The position involves occasional periods of physical exertion and stamina to work effectively under adverse conditions, including the use of appropriate body mechanics for lifting and transferring patients or equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Completion of an accredited EMT program.
• Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Indiana.
• Current certification in BLS Healthcare CPR.
• Provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.

• Experience is preferred.

• Job-specific training is provided through a preceptorship program of a minimum of 80 hours, or longer at the discretion of the EMS Director.
