About The Position

The EMS Supply Specialist plays a crucial role in the organization's ability to function efficiently and seamlessly daily by managing the distribution and inventory of supplies and equipment for emergency medical services. The EMS Supply Specialist is a great asset to all ambulance personnel and their ability to have the needed and required medical supplies and equipment so they can perform their duties without delay. This role is important by ensuring that all medical bags are stocked correctly and free from expired medications and supplies. The EMS Supply Specialist also ensures that the supply room has adequate supplies that are required for the organization to maintain and operate successfully and effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience as an EMT
  • Knowledge of medical equipment and terminology
  • Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Comprehend and make references from written materials such as operations manuals and day-to-day supply room manuals.
  • Enter data or information into a terminal, PC or other keyboard device to update information in the EMS Computer-Aided Inventory program system.
  • Candidates must have the ability to be punctual and reliable.
  • Positive upbeat attitude, enthusiastic and compassionate.
  • Strong ability to multi-task and maintain composure during times of stress

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of prior work history in logistics or inventory management

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the main supply room by cataloging goods and restocking supply bins when needed.
  • Maintain inventory of the Bulk Supply room to verify that items are available in overflow.
  • Board ambulances, as available, to assist with restocking, securing, organizing, and removal of overstock items.
  • Restocks medical bags to ensure appropriate items and correct quantities of items are present and not expired.
  • Keep all supply rooms, field bags, and units free from expired items.
  • Discard any expired items properly and maintain the restock of the expired items.
  • Prepare for any substantial items expiring that require an immediate and or timely order to restock.
  • Verify that virtual and physical inventory matches.
  • Place orders as needed for the items to be restocked.
  • Ensure the equipment and supply rooms are clean and free of hazards.
  • Train employees in how to properly remove supplies from inventory using the portable barcode scanners located within the supply room.
  • Assist with cabinet tagging and inventory of units.
  • Assist Logistics Manager with any other daily tasks that may need to be performed related to this position.
  • Sign In / Out narcotic safes & keys.
  • Replacing & correctly logging used narcotics and replacement meds into Teams Narcotic Usage spreadsheet.
  • Be accessible to run spike calls with ODS if the need arises.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • At times, other company-related duties or tasks may need to be performed.
