About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned sites and staff, including the Operations Supervisor and all field employees (EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics). This role serves as redundancy for the Director of Operations in their absence and participates in both clinical and administrative shifts as required. The Operations Manager ensures that team members have the necessary equipment, resources, licensing/credentials, and training to complete patient care and assigned transports efficiently, meeting contractual and customer service standards. They also ensure crews and vehicles are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing crew appearance, readiness, discipline, driving behavior, scheduling, and morale, as well as maintaining office cleanliness and readiness. The role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to act as a mentor and supervisor.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
  • Graduation from High School or equivalent
  • Must be at least 19 years old or older at time of hire for insurance purposes
  • Successful completion of NREMT certification
  • Current NREMT and State EMT or higher
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record
  • Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOS course or ability to obtain in 90 days
  • Current AHA BLS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
  • Ability to provide quality patient care within the scope of practice
  • Knowledge of all state protocols for EMT, AEMT and Paramedic
  • Availability for recall in times of crisis
  • Ability to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to read, speak, and write English

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members by communicating company initiatives, addressing and resolving concerns, and providing necessary tools and resources.
  • Motivate, mentor, and coach the team to meet customer service, safety, and compliance standards, promptly addressing issues and removing barriers to achieving company goals.
  • Maintain the assigned office payroll budget to ensure six weeks of scheduling is always posted.
  • Report for clinical and administrative shifts as required and scheduled.
  • Address scheduling gaps immediately and collaborate with the management team to resolve schedule gaps company-wide, with managers and supervisors prepared to fill open shifts if needed.
  • Perform administrative office responsibilities in conjunction with regularly scheduled on-duty time (working manager role).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and functional office environment, ensuring accountability and organization of equipment and supplies, and maintaining security of buildings, office spaces, narcotics/drugs, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure assigned vehicles and equipment are functional, assigned, used, and stored appropriately, communicating problems and coordinating repairs/replacements promptly.
  • Respond to, investigate, and determine the root cause of vehicle accidents, employee injuries, or other liability concerns to reduce hazardous work conditions and company liabilities.
  • Provide additional operational EMS coverage as needed during times of high demand or low coverage.
  • Participate in bi-weekly manager meetings and other assigned internal meetings.
  • Review the Missing PCR list and facilitate tracking down of all missing PCRs to ensure they are completed and sent to the server within 48 hours of being received on the list.
  • Serve as a reliable point of contact for Dispatch as part of the leadership phone tree, ensuring timely response and support for operational needs.
  • Participate in a Manager on Duty schedule to ensure team members have access to a manager outside of normal business hours.
  • Maintain and demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of all applicable state EMS protocols and compliance requirements, ensuring organizational adherence and operational consistency.
  • Serve as a liaison to facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
