About The Position

The EMS Instructor provides classroom, laboratory, and simulation-based instruction within the Silver Cross Hospital EMS Education Program. The instructor primarily supports the Paramedic Program and may teach selected content in the EMT Program as assigned. The role includes delivering educational content, evaluating students, developing examinations, and supporting student success and National Registry preparation. The instructor also mentors students, provides remediation when needed, and serves as a professional role model and advocate for evidence-based EMS practice.

Requirements

• Illinois Paramedic or Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Illinois EMS Lead Instructor qualification.
• At least 3 years of EMS experience.
• Strong instructional and communication skills.
• Availability to teach on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays, with a minimum commitment of one instructional day per week.

Nice To Haves

• NREMT certification.
• Prior Paramedic Program teaching experience.
• Bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities
