About The Position

The EMS Instructor II will be responsible for providing Paramedic and EMT Basic didactic, psychomotor, and affective instruction along with evaluations for all basic and advanced initial EMS Education and continuing courses to include psychomotor instruction for the Emergency Medical Services training program. The EMS Instructor II utilizes adult learning theories and learning styles to maximize learner success and ensure overall effectiveness of all TEEX/ESTI initial EMS education courses. The EMS Instructor II is responsible for assisting the EMS Training Director in collecting necessary reports and information for CoAEMSP accreditation, NREMT and Texas Department of Health and Human Services EMS credentialing requirements.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in EMS or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of emergency or non-emergency field experience as a Paramedic.
  • Two years of initial or continuing EMS education instruction experience, which may include clinical or field preceptor training, EMS service field training officer or EMS/Fire supervisory experience.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Must have and maintain current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic or Texas Department of State Health and Human Services (TDSHS-EMS) Certification Paramedic.
