Under the direction and guidance of the State Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director, performs complex consultative services and technical assistance with EMS / Trauma System policies, rules and laws. Provides technical assistance to program staff, licenses, certificates, governmental agencies, community organizations and the public; monitors and responds including the EMSInfo mailbox. Work involves research projects, draft rules, tracking legislative bills and tasks assigned by the State EMS Director. Assist in the design and production of a quarterly electronic newsletter related to EMS / Trauma System using software such as InDesign, Word, Photoshop and Illustrator, and graphics to support the electronic newsletter articles, while maintaining compliance with the DSHS communication style guide. Serve as backup for web updates for programs within the Consumer Protection Division. Assists in coordinating and supporting meetings of various advisory councils, public hearings, and staff trainings. Coordinates the annual DSHS award program with the Texas EMS Conference. Assist as support staff for developing policies and procedures as they correlate with the mission of the program, including Out-of-Hospital Do-Not-Resuscitate, and the Governors EMS and Trauma Advisory Council (GETAC).
