About The Position

Educate, train and mentor paramedic students by delivering comprehensive didactic, laboratory, simulation, and clinical instruction. Prepare students to provide safe, evidence-based prehospital care and successfully meet the National Registry and state certification requirements. Develop and deliver engaging classroom lectures, hands-on skills labs and high-fidelity simulation exercises. Teach advanced prehospital assessment, treatment and critical thinking based on current EMS standards and evidence-based practices. Evaluate student performances through written exams, practical skills assessments and competency evaluations. Provide coaching, mentoring and academic support to promote student success Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, state and local EMS regulations and institutional policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as licensed Paramedic
  • Hold a valid license under IDPH
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers Certification
  • Must be personable with good organizational and communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work in a fluid environment and demonstrate improvisational skills
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and other related areas
  • Must be able to present information to adult learners in a controlled environment
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Emergency Medical Services Teaching experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification (Instructor preferred but not required)
  • Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (Instructor preferred but not required)
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Providers Certification (Instructor preferred but not required)
