About The Position

As an EMS Dispatcher, you’ll answer emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate resources, and provide pre-arrival instructions—coordinating across teams to ensure timely response. Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Current American Heart Association BLS
Obtain Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) certification through IAED within 4–6 months (initial course/testing funded with work agreement)

Nice To Haves

1+ year emergency dispatch or prior NARMC EMS experience

Responsibilities

Answer emergency and non-emergency calls
Dispatch appropriate resources
Provide pre-arrival instructions

Intake calls for medical assistance
Deploy EMS units per protocol
Operate multiple communication systems
Document all activity accurately
Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergent requests
Dispatch resources per policy
Use radio/phone/CAD professionally
Follow communication procedures and etiquette
Maintain preparedness
Mentor new team members
Keep the center clean and organized
