About The Position

The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED
• Must be 18 years' of age
• Driver's License
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification
• APCO BTC or State approved equivalent Certification
• IAED Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatcher Certification
• Hazmat Material Awareness training Certification
• Weapons of Mass Destruction or CBRNE Awareness training Certification
• ICS - 100, 200, and NIMS 700, 800 Certification

Nice To Haves

• PHTLS/ITLS
• 1-3 years of previous dispatch experience related experience in firefighting/EMS

Responsibilities

• The Dispatcher-EMT is responsible for answering 9-1-1 telephone calls and other telephone calls, screening them according to the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch IAED ProQA system and dispatching the appropriate resources
• The Dispatcher-EMT will utilize a Computer Aided Dispatch system, radio communications system, and telephone system to communicate with units in the field, update their status on assignment, and ensure the safety of all personnel
• This position requires superior communication skills and customer service skills
