About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking an Empty Can De-Palletizer Operator for a Seasonal Night Shift position at their Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This role is crucial for ensuring a consistent supply of empty cans to the production lines, specifically to the Solbern fillers, during the fresh pack season, which typically runs from August to November. The company has a long-standing reputation for processing high-quality tomatoes and fruits, operating three production facilities across the US.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate verbally and remain calm under stress.
- Compliance with all Food Safety Initiatives and adherence to safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to make critical decisions following company procedures.
- Ability to manage time effectively to complete work within deadlines.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
- Willingness to work an extended schedule, including weekends and any assigned shift during the fresh pack season (typically August to early November).
Responsibilities
- Uses proper tools to remove shrink wrap from pallets of empty cans.
- Removes fiber or wood tops from pallets and stacks them.
- Operates push buttons or levers to move pallets.
- Collects tags from each pallet and submits them to quality control at the end of the shift.
- Communicates with the empty can forklift driver and/or floor leads regarding any issues.
