Direct Support Professional: Employment Training Specialist (Job Coach)
About The Position
The Employment Training Specialist is part-time (29 hours per week). This role involves meaningful work advocating for and training people with disabilities. The specialist will be a part of clients' personal growth, achievement, and independence by training and coaching them to meet their employer's expectations. The hours are Monday - Sunday and will be determined based on client needs. This role requires work beyond the regular workday and responding to requests to work within 24-hour notice. Hours will not exceed 29 per week. The company offers paid time off and a supportive environment, describing itself as a mission-driven company that is like family. Pay starts at $13.50. A valid driver's license is required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Ability to secure a valid driver's license
- Ability to secure a Health and Welfare criminal background check
- Must pass a Department of Health and Welfare background check
Nice To Haves
- Two years of experience in a related field such as Vocational Rehabilitation, special education, teaching, or counseling.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients who have secured community employment to maintain and develop their vocational skills to levels needed to achieve their vocational goal.
- Provide direct job coaching, support, and advocacy.
