Seacoast Mental Health Center, Inc. is seeking a full-time Employment Specialist to provide direct and indirect Evidence Based Supported Employment services to eligible adults with severe and persistent mental illness and their families. Because employment services are most effective in the community, most of the role is spent with clients outside the office. The Employment Specialist conducts job development, community outreach, and education with existing and prospective employers. The role also involves assessing clients’ vocational needs, developing coherent employment plans, documenting client-related contacts, and completing periodic chart reviews and treatment plan addendums in a timely manner. Services should preserve clients’ dignity and strengthen independent functioning. The Specialist also helps build and structure natural support systems involving people and groups such as family, coworkers, friends, neighbors, and community organizations.
