About The Position

S:US is seeking an Employment Specialist for their adult families shelter in Manhattan. The Employment Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This role involves working with adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences, and requires evening hours.

Requirements

Associates degree required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies.
Familiar with OMH regulations.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
Visits clients in their home and other settings as required.
Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services.
Provides aid and assistance through all phases of the vocational service provision.
Performs routine clinical services as a member of the Team.
Responsible for charting client services.
Responsible for the vocational portion or all of creating the service plan.
Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members.
Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change.
Advocates for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.
Creates a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status.
Follows up quarterly with all employed tenants.
Assists with making monthly contact with tenant as needed.
Participates in bi-weekly monthly meetings.
Participates in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns.
Other duties as assigned.
