About The Position

Merakey is seeking an Employment Specialist to join their team in Alexandria, LA. This role is an essential part of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team, which provides evidence-based services to members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness. The Employment Specialist will assist members in reaching occupational and/or educational goals, provide vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods, help members maintain resources and benefits, and offer crisis support, reinforcements, and education to team members.

Requirements

• Active Driver’s License within the state of Louisiana or ability to transfer license to LA.
• Must have a Bachelor’s in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work or Counseling.
• Must be willing to work in a community-based setting and with members diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with reaching occupational and/or educational goals.
• Provide vocational rehabilitation through assessment and supportive employment methods.
• Assist members with maintaining resources and benefits that can assist them with meeting their basic needs.
• Provide crisis support, reinforcements, and education to all members on the team.
