About The Position
Hope Haven is an accredited resource for disability services and advocacy, offering service programs and support to meet a broad range of needs for children, adults, and families – from physical, mental, and intellectual to residential, vocational, and spiritual. They are looking for a full-time Employment Specialist to engage clients and the communities they serve, forming lasting partnerships with local companies. This position requires the candidate to represent the philosophy of Hope Haven and “Employment First” principles to promote integrated, competitive employment as the first option for youth and adults with disabilities.
Requirements
- BA or BS degree in Human Services or related field or commensurate experience
- Skills in applying knowledge of mental, physical, and social impairments and their probable effects on vocational, personal, social, and community environments
- Confident writing and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a health assessment & criminal background check

- Align clients with work environments that are mutually beneficial
- Encourage and empower clients to make positive choices about their work and employment
- Manage, monitor, and document the process as it develops
