About The Position

S:US is seeking an Employment Specialist for their adult families shelter in Manhattan. The Employment Specialist provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. This role is responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all team members and ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change. The position also involves creating a monthly spreadsheet of tenants and their employment status, following up quarterly with employed tenants, and making monthly contact with tenants as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to assist adults of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences.
  • Familiar with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations as they apply to the community residence program and agency policies.
  • Familiar with OMH regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides vocational services and consultation as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Visits clients in their home and other settings required.
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services.
  • Performing routine clinical services as a member of the Team.
  • Responsible for charting client services.
  • Responsible for creating the vocational portion or all of the service plan.
  • Responsible for integrating vocational goals and services with the tasks of all the team members.
  • Responsible for ensuring revisions to the plan as the participant’s needs change.
  • Advocating for the rights and preferences of the participant whenever possible.
  • Responsible for creating a monthly spreadsheet with names of tenants and their employment status.
  • Follow-up quarterly with all employed tenants.
  • Assist with making monthly contact with tenant as needed.
  • Participate in bi-weekly monthly meeting.
  • Participate in monthly supervision to address any work-related tasks or concerns.
  • Other duties as assigned.
