About The Position

Community Options, Inc., a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states, is hiring a part-time Employment Specialist in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The role coaches people with developmental disabilities and prepares them for employment by developing essential job skills and assisting with job placement. Starting pay is $19.50 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of full-time work experience supporting people with disabilities.
• Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to help people with disabilities obtain competitive employment.
• Coach individuals with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
• Work side-by-side with individuals with disabilities at job sites.
• Reinforce essential skills and teach new skills, including resume development, successful job interviewing, and completing job applications.
• Accurately complete all documentation.
• Cooperate with licensing and department staff during inspections, inquiries, or investigations.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
