About The Position

This role focuses on delivering individualized support, fostering community integration, and promoting collaboration to ensure success in the workplace. The Employment Professional provides a range of supported employment services tailored to each person's needs, with the goal of enhancing independence, developing positive work relationships, and building the knowledge, skills, and behaviors essential for long-term success on the job.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Full drivers license with a clean driving record with 2 years driving experience.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the participants and demands of the job.
  • Successful completion of Association of Community Rehabilitation Educators (ACRE) within 6 months of hire.
  • Successful completion of the Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) certification within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with disabled adults preferred
  • Associate degree preferred
  • DDA, LTSS and ICM experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Identify employment opportunities with the people supported based on individualized assessment information.
  • Conducts individualized job development by speaking with employers in the community about the person's abilities and desires to obtain employment.
  • Assist participants in preparing for interviews, completing job applications, and developing job-related skills.
  • Develop positive relationships with businesses, community agencies, other departments, and outside vendors.
  • Conduct assessments to identify accommodations for each person.
  • Provide discovery, job development, follow along support and ongoing job supports to the people supported at their places of employment, including job coaching and advocacy as needed.
  • Provide transportation to and from places of employment, as needed.
  • Complete accurate and timely daily documentation of all employment services.
